RESEARCH DEPARTMENT Pro Deo International has several world-leading experts on a diverse range of topics. They are eager to explore and find solutions to a wide range of challenges. We want our research results to reach as many people as possible thus providing a real impact on our world. We feel that this is an obligation to our community. PDIU’s purpose is to exchange knowledge with our society hence accelerating the research Impact. The board responsible for the research program is responsible with the administrative responsibilities to find research funding at International, National and Local level. Main activities Scouting of research funding opportunities at International and National Levels as well as international cooperation and targeted dissemination of information to the academic community. consultancy and assistance in the presentation of projects in the context of International and National research programs as well as obtaining international cooperation. Promotion and implementation of training initiatives aimed at increasing the ability to attract and manage funds. Support for the management of international funding (Horizon Europe 2021-2027; COST Program; Life Program; Health Program; Progress Call. Services to support the activities related to the audit phases of international research projects. Support for the stipulation of International cooperation agreements. Management of activities related to funding for research. Management of activities relating to the awarding of grants for research collaboration. Management of activities relating to the awarding of research grants; Information and organizational support for activities related to research evaluation campaigns. Collection and processing of research data. Collaborate on a research project: PDIU has unique breadth and depth in its research capabilities, and it is keen to work collaboratively with businesses and other organisations for the benefit of all involved as well as society in general. PDIU actively encourages its academics to take part in collaborations, and provides support at all stages of the necessary interactions. Many collaborations are interdisciplinary, or multidisciplinary, and all relationships are bespoke. Assistance is offered internally, by dedicated business development professionals, to help facilitate the necessary relationships, and to conduct contractual negotiations pragmatically and efficiently. Scientific disciplines - Groups in the Informatic, Mathematical, Physical & Life Sciences collaborate with many companies worldwide, from multi-nationals to local start-ups. Collaborative projects at Pro Deo International are just that collaborative, as we find this helps to ‘ground’ the research and maximise the value to both parties. Collaborations typically range from 1-year sponsored MSc projects, through 3/4-year PhD level projects, to longer term projects involving post-doctoral researchers. In all cases research is conducted under the expert supervision of a leading member of faculty and we seek the active involvement of the sponsoring company. Medical Sciences - partners with scientists and industrial partners to promote and facilitate both research laboratory, clinical and pre-clinical collaborative research projects. Our areas of research excellence are broad and include fundamental biology, drug discovery and development, medical devices, genomics and diagnostics, technology development, clinical studies, and public health projects. Partnerships with PDIU can offer a point of contact for working with the NHS. Humanities - Humanities researchers regularly engage with external organisations, community groups, and businesses. Social Sciences - The Social Science departments are all committed to research involving the development and greater understanding of all aspects of society, from the impact of political, legal and economic systems on social and economic welfare to human rights and security. A knowledge exchange facilitator and a knowledge exchange support assistant provide advice and support for those wishing to embark on knowledge exchange projects in the Social Sciences. Form a strategic alliance: PDIU welcomes the opportunity to build strategic alliances or institutes with other Educational Institutions, Companies and Laboratories. Our business development teams have extensive experience in alliance management and can work in partnership to develop the best framework for the alliance. We have dedicated teams to build relationships and facilitate collaboration with each specialist area.
